Function of frog in brick

Frog

Frog is the depression in the face of brick. It is formed in the brick during the process of moulding of 10 to 20 mm. A frog is provided for mainly two purposes:

i.  It indicates the trade name of the manufacturer.

ii.  It serves as a key of mortar when other bricks are placed over it.
